R. canina has five pale pink or white petals that range in length from.75 to a little over 1 inch. Flowers can be single or in a corymb of many blooms. The leaf is odd-pinnately compound, with 5 to 7 toothed leaflets that are usually glabrous. The terminal leaflet is oval and can be up to 1.5 inches long, with the base of the leaflet being broader than the more or less pointed tip.
