It blooms in huge clusters of tiny creamy-white flowers that are aromatic. Simple, opposite, whole, ovate leaves that are 3 to 6 inches long, half as broad, and have a long, tapering tip. The medium to dark green leaves have a fuzzy underside. In the autumn, the deciduous leaves develop a pale greenish-brown color before falling.
