Summer Savory (Satureja hortensis)
Summer savoury is the most common culinary species, an annual shrubby herb that thrives in warm climates. Fine trichomes cover the square stems, which are sometimes purple in colour. The linear gray-green leaves are about 2.5 cm (1 inch) long and arranged oppositely. The white or pink two-lipped flowers are arranged in whorls along the stems.
