Sugar Daddy Pea, Edible Pod Snap Pea (Pisum sativum)
Dr. Calvin Lamborn, the creative research director who produced the first edible-podded snap pea, 'Sugar Snap,' bred 'Sugar Daddy' peas. Stringless pods, shorter vines, and increased disease tolerance are all features of 'Sugar Daddy.' The deep green colour of the slender 3" pods adds to their appeal. The short plants only grow to be 24"-30" tall.
