Pinus jeffreyi (Jeffrey Pine)
The Jeffrey Pine is a big tree that may grow to be 82 to 131 feet tall, however it grows smaller at or near the tree line. The needle-like leaves are bundled in threes, thick, waxy pale gray-green, and long. The cones are 12 to 24 centimetres long when young, dark purple when mature, pale brown when mature, and have thinly woody scales with a short, pointed inward-pointing barb. The seeds have a broad wing and are long. Vanilla, lemon, pineapple, violets, apple, or butterscotch are some of the scents associated with the bark. It can withstand drought, cold, and heat.
