Grande Rio Verde Tomatillo (Physalis ixocarpa)
Tomatillos are used in a wide range of Mexican dishes. 'Grande Rio Verde' produces nearly all of its ripe fruit at once on compact plants (about 24" tall), making it ideal for small spaces or containers. Shorter harvest windows are ideal for canning or freezing tomatillo-based sauces, or simply freezing tomatillos for later use. To ensure good pollination, grow two or more plants.
