ESCHSCHOLZIA californica (California Poppy)
A cool-weather annual or short-lived perennial that thrives in full sun and sandy, average, well-drained soils. It's important to have good soil drainage. Sow seeds directly in the garden at the end of the last spring frost date, or start plants in pots indoors 2-3 weeks before the end of the last spring frost date. From late spring to early summer, flowers bloom on long stems. In rainy or cloudy weather, flowers close up. Yellow Orange flowers give an excellent look to the meadows.
