Crenshaw Melon (Cucumis melo)
The Crenshaw melon, also known as the Cranshaw melon, is very similar to its parent melon, the Casaba. It has a mostly spherical shape with a flattened bottom and a gentle point at the stem's end. The hard rind is yellowish-green in colour and has a corrugated, netting-free finish. Its sweet and slightly spicy peach-colored flesh is dense and tender. At the height of ripeness, the melon's skin turns golden-yellow and has a slightly waxy texture.
