Black Beauty Eggplant (Solanum melongena)
Big, glossy, oblong fruits with a dark purple to almost black skin that develop early on sturdy plants. This heirloom has been grown for over 100 years and can produce up to 12 fruits per plant, but it requires a lot of heat. Try growing it under a cloche or with a layer of plastic mulch on top of the soil. In coastal gardens, Black Beauty Organic eggplant seeds can produce even if they aren't given any extra support.
