Ponca Personal Size Butternut Squash, Winter (Cucurbita maxima)
Ponca is a butternut squash variety with a high yielding personal size. The squash are only 6-8 inches long and have a light orange flesh and traditional beige skin. Ponca has a small seed cavity and a thick neck, which allows it to pack a lot of usable flesh into a small package. The University of Nebraska developed this variety, which will thrive even in colder climates.
