PENSTEMON palmeri (Palmer Penstemon)
Penstemon Palmeri commonly known as ‘Palmer Penstemon’ is a flowering plant native to desert mountains from eastern Mojave Desert in California, to eastern Nevada, northeastern Arizona, and New Mexico, and north through areas in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and eastern Washington. Plants begin growth early in the spring and flower blossoms appear in late spring and early summer. Palmer’s Penstemon produces succulent foliage during the spring and summer and is selectively used by small birds, big game and livestock.
