Allium cernuum (Nodding Pink Onion) is a herbaceous perennial herb plant in the onion family (Amaryllidaceae). It is native to North America, where it grows in prairies, meadows, and open woods.

This is herb plant grows from an uncovered long conical bulb. Each top grown bulb consists of single flowering stem. Bell shaped flowers are mostly bent down with yellow pollens and yellow anthers at top of flower. Nodding feature of plant protects the nectars from rain. This is an edible plant having taste of onion, that’s why it is called Nodding Pink Onion. All gardens look stunning where these plants are grown because of their unique showy flowers.

Nodding Pink Onion grows up to 18 inches (45 cm) tall and has a tall, slender stem with narrow, grass-like leaves that grow to a length of 6 to 12 inches (15 to 30 cm). The plant produces clusters of nodding, pink, bell-shaped flowers that bloom from mid-summer to early fall.
