Juglans ailantifolia (Japanese Walnut)

The Japanese walnut is a walnut species found in Japan and Sakhalin. It's a deciduous tree with light grey bark that grows to be 66 feet tall. The leaves are pinnate, long, and pinnately divided into 11-17 leaflets, each of which is long and broad. The whole leaf is downy-pubescent, with a brighter, yellower green than most other tree leaves. The male flowers are little yellow-green catkins that emerge in the spring along with the new leaves. The pistils of the female blooms are pink or crimson. The fruit is a nut that grows in clusters of four to ten; the nut is spherical, 3–5 cm long and broad, and is covered by a green husk until it ripens in mid-autumn.
