Cheiranthus allionii (Siberian Wallflower)

Cheiranthus allionii (Siberian Wallflower) is a species of flowering plant in the family Brassicaceae.

Siberian Wallflower is native to central Asia and has been introduced to other parts of the world, including North America and Europe, where it has become naturalized in some areas. The plant prefers full sun and well-drained soil and is relatively drought-tolerant once established.

The plant is a short-lived perennial or biennial that typically grows to a height of 1-2 feet (30-60 cm) and a width of 1-1.5 feet (30-45 cm). It has narrow, lance-shaped leaves that are arranged in a rosette at the base of the plant. The flowers are produced in clusters at the top of tall stems and are bright orange-yellow in color, with a sweet fragrance. The blooms appear in the spring and early summer months and attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

Fragrant and showy orange flowers make a brilliant look of the ground where they are grown.  According to a research, these plants once had been used as herbal and medical purposes. Besides, they are used in making perfumes because of their elegant aroma. In the language of flowers, this wall flower represents the disappointment in love.  These are good source for mass planting, and used as fragrant flower mixtures, beds and borders, and the pollinator garden.

Cheiranthus allionii is commonly grown as an ornamental plant in gardens, rockeries, and containers. It is also sometimes used as a cut flower. The plant is easy to grow and adds vibrant color to the landscape. Siberian Wallflower is also known for its ability to attract beneficial insects, such as ladybugs and lacewings, which feed on aphids and other garden pests.
