Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa)
A clump-forming perennial with square stems that is heavily branched and scented. Flowers are usually arranged in a single terminal cluster and are surrounded by numerous small leaves, which are frequently rose-purple in colour. Lavender, lilac, or rose floral tubes to 112 inches long, ending in two lips, the lower broad and recurving, the upper arching upward with stamens protruding. The bracts that surround it are pale green or lilac-tinged.
