AGASTACHE urticifolia Nettleleaf Horsemint is a perennial herbaceous plant in the mint family (Lamiaceae). It is native to western North America, where it grows in prairies, meadows, and open woods. This long lived flowering plant of mint family have leaves of triangular and sharp tooth shape. Bright purple flowers with pink and purple shades in corollas manifest the beauty of land.

Nettleleaf Horsemint grows to a height of 1 to 3 feet (30 to 90 cm) and has square stems that are covered with fine hairs. The leaves are lance-shaped, toothed, and have a texture similar to that of nettle leaves, hence the common name "Nettleleaf." The leaves and stems are highly aromatic and give off a strong minty scent when crushed. The plant produces spikes of tubular flowers that are lavender to pink in color and bloom from mid-summer to early fall. The flowers are highly attractive to pollinators, especially bees and butterflies.

Nettleleaf Horsemint prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. It is drought tolerant and can tolerate a wide range of soil conditions. The plant is often used in wildflower gardens, prairie plantings, and meadow plantings. It is also used in teas and as a medicinal herb, as it has been traditionally used by Native Americans for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Agastache urticifolia is an aromatic herb with an upright stem and widely spread leaves. It produces fruit of light brown colored nutlet of almost 2mm long. It propagates by seed and don’t have any pest issues. It’s dried leaves and flowers can be used to make special tea.
