Old German Tomato, Standard (Slicing) Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum)
A hearty 1-pound heirloom with beautiful colour on the outside and exceptionally sweet, yellow flesh with few seeds on the inside! Low in seeds and high in flavour! The large, yellow fruit weighs 1 pound (454 g) and has a luscious red exterior and centre. Old German is one of the best-tasting slicers you can grow, despite its unusual shape. It's from the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, and it's from the mid-nineteenth century.
