Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire,' often known as bloodtwig dogwood, is a hard shrub to beat in the winter landscape for colour. It's a suckering, multi-stemmed deciduous shrub. Golden fall foliage, followed by branches and stems that start off yellow at the base of the plant and progressively change brilliant orange to red as they approach the tip, are the prominent features of this variety.
