Purple Top White Globe Turnip (Brassica rapa)
Purple and White Top Globe turnip seeds come from an heirloom turnip that dates back to before 1880. The roots are nearly round and smooth. On top, it's bright purple, and below the soil line, it's creamy white. They have a mild, sweet flavour and can grow up to 13cm (5") in diameter, but are best eaten when picked at 5-8cm (2-3"). Vitamin C is abundant in both the roots and the greens.
