The rind of this heirloom acorn is dark green and ribbed, and the flesh is a sweet golden yellow that turns more orange in storage. Fruits can reach a height of 6 inches. Leave on the vine until it reaches full maturity. Harvest before the first frost, leaving a portion of the stem on the fruit. Store at 45-55 degrees Fahrenheit in a dry place for the winter.
