Dipper Gourd (Lagenaria siceraria)
Dipper gourds are sprawling plants that produce massive amounts of fruit during the growing season. Drinking bowls, birdhouses, and other decorative pieces can be made from the gourds they make. This is one ornamental gourd worth keeping an eye on. Leave it on the ground and watch as the long, swooping, curved handle twists and turns up to 6' long. If you prefer a straight handle, practising it on a trellis will suffice.
