  1. Pink Torch Ginger

'Pink Torch' Ginger is a similar plant to the traditional Red Torch. If you want a tropical appeal this is a must have ginger. Mass planted in a bed with cordylines and heliconia,  'Pink Torch' looks fantastic as a landscaping plant.

Pink Torch' has tall, gracefully arching 10-12 foot leaves and lovely porcelain pink inflorescence from 3-4 feet tall. The pink "petals" are actually bracts, which later reveal small yellow true flowers inside. The pink color is shading to white or almost transparent towards the tip creating an impressive porcelain-like effect. This is the longest lasting cut-flower of all Etlingeras.

A beautiful ginger plant with attractive foliage producing tulip-shaped plastic pink flowers on basal stems. The undersides of the leaves are a darker green that is retained even when the leaves are mature. The unusual inflorescences are a showy plastic pink color dotted with neon yellow.

Pink Torch' requires a sheltered position and prefers rich, moist soil and regular fertilizing.

Fantastic light green leaves with darker undersides.

Basal tulip-like flowers and occasional terminal flowers (rare).

Great landscaping plant. Attractive in the garden and as an exotic cut flower.

    Blooms throughout the year.

Hardiness zones 9-11, (5ºC/40ºF, -5ºC/25ºF) in Winter. Not frost or cold tolerant. Very easy to grow. Best grown in full sun and needs plenty of warmth and well drained conditions. Requires consistently moist soil; do not let dry out between waterings. Water freely and feed monthly in growing season. It should be planted in a rich soil high in organic matter. Excellent for the greenhouse but needs high humidity and artificial light.

Soak seeds overnight. Plant 1/2" deep in mixture of rich soil. Keep warm, moist and in bright light. Germination can be slow.
