90 days. Citrullus lanatus. Plant produces huge watermelons as large as 200 pounds. Very flavorful crisp bright red flesh. The rind is striped and resistant to bruising. Impress your neighbors by growing a huge watermelon in your backyard.

These are not home grown and are not sold cheap.

Sweet, crisp and juicy, watermelon varieties have similar nutritional content. 
They are 90-95 percent water, low in calories and contain no cholesterol.
Sugar content or sweetness ranges between 12-15 percent.

Sowing: Direct seed after the last frost when soil is warm. 
Usually sown in groups ("hills") of 2-3 seeds and thinned to the 1 or 2 strongest plants per group. 
Can be sown indoors 4 weeks earlier. (one seed between 2 peat discs)


Care: Water regularly and fertilize when lateral runners begin to spread.


Harvest: When underside turns from green white to yellowish.
Also, THUMP the melon; a dull, full, hollow sound indicates ripeness.
Thump= A flick of your finger onto the watermelon with the same force as you would when jokingly flicking an earlobe
