Agave kerchovei forms a short trunk and grows individually or sprouts. The rosettes are formed from the lower leaf axils. The variable, lanceolate thick, stiff, green to yellow-colored leaves are long and 5-12 cm wide, 40 to 125 cm. The upper and lower leaf sides are different shapes. The horny leaf margins are toothed flexible. The strong brown to gray End dorn is 3-6 cm long.

The eared inflorescence is 2.5 to 5 m high. The green to purple flowers appear densely in the upper part and are 38 to 46 mm long. The open spread flower tube is 4-6 mm long.

The elongated dreikammerigen capsule fruits are 25-35 mm long and 10-12 mm wide. The irregularly shaped, shiny black seeds are 3.5 to 4 mm in length and 2.5 to 3 mm wide.

The flowering period extends from July to September.
